A lunar cycle lasts a good 29.5 days, a partial solar eclipse still an hour. In the case of the spheres of Elisa Strozyk's "Overlap Mirror", decreasing or increasing is an entirely idle question: the smaller disc made of ceramic-glazed cordierite has pushed itself immovably in front of the mirror sun, with the wooden shelf forming the equator of the satellite, as it were. What a poetic idea from the Berlin material artist, who has already transformed wood into 3D materials: when looking into the mirror, time stops, stands still, becomes meaningless.
